Publisher's summary

Bradford Bishop had it all: a beautiful wife, three towhead sons, a nice home in a quiet Maryland suburb, and a promising career in the US State Department. But on March 1, 1976, he threw it all away. After finding out he'd been passed over for a promotion, Bishop snapped. He went home and, in an act of unspeakable brutality, murdered his wife, his three boys, and his own mother - five people in all. Then he vanished off the face of the Earth. Or so it seemed.

Almost 40 years later, Peter Ross Range (author of the best-selling Murder in the Yoga Store) delivers the definitive story of Bishop's life and crime, following the trail from his privileged upbringing in California to his wily escape, including never-before reported details and chilling theories as to where he might be today.

Excellent

This is a very good rendition of this murder mystery. Enough detail to provide good information without overwhelming with legal details. Narrator clear and concise with just enough enthusiasm to keep your attention but not overwhelm the story. Highly recommend this book. And I hope one day they find him.

Perfect

Great synopsis of the case of Bradley Bishop case. Narrator was excellent and captivating, and the pace of the “story” was perfect. Also, I enjoyed that this included speculation, theories, opinions as well as the known facts about the case.

Amazing story

Short but fact-filled, well researched story that I had never heard — which is unusual since I’m a true crime addict.

Can anyone say they actually enjoyed this? I hope not.

Enjoyable? No. Fascinating & well told? Yes.

Hard to imagine how a sane man could do what Bishop did to his family. Was he sick or just a horrible blend of evil & narcissist? I have to believe that whatever became of this man, life after his crimes bore no resemblance to the life he’d hoped to live. That instead of freedom he imagined he’d gain from his twisted actions, he lived a long, lonely, hopeless life on the run full of regret as punishment for his actions, and that every moment of sleep brought with it vivid nightmares of the horror of his crimes.

Okay.

I don't like stories with no ending. This was ok but come on, find this guy.

Interesting tale of murder

I’d never heard about the Brad Bishop murders until now. This book was deeply researched. It felt a little like a professional audition piece for the writer, narrator and producer. All played their parts well.

Story of a Psychopathic Killer

This short audio story about Bradford Bishop is extremely interesting to anyone who likes true crime tales. I hadn't heard of Bradford Bishop or the killings, surprisingly enough. He was a self-absorbed man from the beginning and focused on climbing the corporate and social ladder. Even his wife and family were pawns in that obsession. If you look him up on Wikipedia, you will see his photo, and even that gives me chills, as he seems to have a permanent smirk on his face, as if he knows something that no one else does . . . such as, I am planning to murder my entire family and there's not a darn thing you can do about it. I do believe that these people are BORN, not a product of society or of their raising. Peter Ross Range does an excellent job of telling Bishop's story. Don't miss it.

Interesting listen

So just over an hour in length, this was a story I hadn’t heard of. Very interesting. Unfortunately there is no closure for family, friends, or the officials who were and are involved. Sort of mind boggling.
