Publisher's summary

The Ghosts of the Tanith First-and-Only have been away from the front line for too long. Listless and hungry for action, they are offered a mission that perfectly suits their talents.

The objective: the mysterious Salvation's Reach, a remote and impenetrable stronghold concealing secrets that could change the course of the Sabbat Worlds campaign. But the proposed raid is so hazardous, it's regarded as a suicide mission, and the Ghosts may have been in reserve for so long they've lost their edge. Haunted by spectres from the past and stalked by the Archenemy, Colonel-Commissar Gaunt and his Ghosts embark upon what could be their finest hour...or their final mission.

record more of the Guants Ghosts series.

I would love to hear this narrator to do the entirety of the Guants Ghosts series.

Simply incredible, may we see more of this reader!

You don't need me to tell you that this is easily within anyone's top three Gaunts ghosts tales, though I will say that this particular narrator is simply the greatest gift these stories could ever ask for, sadly I don't see him reading anything else within the black library. I truly hope that changes.

Great Lore

Another great book from Abnett, love 40K lore. Only complaint I have is that I think I would rather drive a screwdriver into my brain than hear the narrator do a female characters voice again. His Yoncy is particularly piercing!

Great writing. Narrative accent a little overdone

Great writing. Narrative accent a little overdone making it hard to follow at times. Dan Abnett always excellent!

Please re-record with a different narrator.

Goes to show how much a bad narrator can really ruin a good 40K novel. Really just....bad. The accents, the "different voices" which are impossible to distinguish. Honestly, would have been wayyyyy better if there were 0 attempts at accents or voices.

Well done, James

Quite possibly the best depiction of a space marine from a normal human’s perspective.
I don’t envy anyone trying to follow Toby Longworth 13 books into an ongoing series, but i think the narrator here managed to do something special. Not the book i would start the series with, but as a continuation it is fantastic.

Narration Lacking

The narration wasn't terrible. It's even passable, but as one of the final books in the series I would say it desperately needs a remaster by Longworth. some character voices are really bad but the work isn't completely irredeemable.

Different narrator

With the change of narrator it was hard to get back into the story. I invested so much time into this series that I had to finish it.
