Great content for starting a business, but racist.

Funny how the author is against racism, yet is racist herself, literally saying things like along the lines of, I don’t want to work with you if you’re a cis/straight white dude. There’s a lot of victimization from the author. I mean, the fact that historically it’s been tougher for minorities is not up for debate, but you don’t put out a fire with more fire. We’re all just a construct of our culture, society and environment, and those awful times of oppression and racism are thankfully gone for the most part, though unfortunately it still happens, but this attitude will surely not help. I’m a straight white guy but have no generational wealth as the author assumes. I’m struggling and in debt and things are as difficult for me as other acquaintances I have of color. I simply didn’t feel welcome listening to this but I pushed through and finished it because the actual content for starting a business is helpful.

Relatable, Structured , uplifting

Read very calmly and definitively. The story is relatable to women who are on the edge to push and start what they have in their hearts!

Rachel knows her stuff

I loved everything she brought out for information. It was on point. What I didn’t like is her limiting her story or instructions to the black female. The story with the boss who was a “white guy” was unnecessary. Color shouldn’t matter and the smart ones who listen to this kind of book from a woman who came from the bottom to the top, WE DON’T CARE… Just tell the story… great book!

Step by step and inspiring

I really like Ms. Rodger’s voice and straight to the point storytelling. The stories included are inspiring and heartfelt. I struggle personally with these types of stories sometimes because they often have the “I was at rock bottom and panicked” vibe. I have (thankfully, I guess) never known I was at “rock bottom” until much later after pulling myself up-and I’ve never been able to “pull” higher than mediocre at best-it feels too exhausting these days to DO anything more than survive. This audible does a good job at inspiring simple, hopefully measurable steps, to make that more realistic. I found myself thinking of other’s strengths and possible “side hustles” and hoping to be able to sit down and find my own.
I would love to hear the author’s feedback on direct sales jobs, network marketing and social selling as I’ve found that community to be extremely supportive with an endless opportunity to grow, make an impact and create a legacy.
Sending great vibes and big hugs to anyone putting themselves out there to better their situation and serve others!

so inspiring!!

I honestly hadn't heard of Rachel Rogers until I listened to Plan Your Year like a Millionaire. I'm a teacher but my husband and I have a swimming pool construction company. That is basically my side-hustle. It's doing well. but could do so much better. The tips in this book are so so so good. I'm pretty obsessed with this author now. Listening to her talk is inspiring...she has a great voice and every word is absolute good.

Practical and Powerful

I am a new fan. Rachel has provided a step-by-step guide to turn your side hustle into a six figure and beyond hustle. She has also included real life examples of each of the points that she shares. This book was powerful and inspirational.

Great knowledge but writer is a racist...

The knowledge shared was amazing. However, the writer is a racist..In the book she Referred to intellectual property of people of color being stolen, Referred to a white guy exploiting black people and a lot more... I am black, but there was no need for blatant racism especially for a professional...

Short and sweet

This was a great read, whether I have a side hustle or not, this was a fun read, and in the very least nice to hear about good small business experiences happening for women.

Ueful info but annoyingly racist/sexist

Simple & practical ideas for anyone wanting to improve their situation. Unfortunately it also encourages racism and sexism, in this case against white males, which apparently makes it okay. Empowering people of all races, sexes and beliefs is great but continually blaming others, whether fairly or not, just encourages people to blame others for failure rather than controlling what they can, themselves.

Personal experience antidotes

As an entrepreneur, I could relate to her guidance. The book helped me rethink my approach to business and what I need to refocus. Absolutely enjoyed it. Highly recommended
